Dr. Janell Logue-Belden is the Superintendent for the Deer Lakes School District and has served in public education since 1991.  During that time, Logue-Belden served as a French teacher in both the South Park School District and Keystone Oaks School District prior to her accepting the Dean of Students position at Keystone Oaks High School.  Following her tenure at Keystone Oaks, Logue-Belden was named Assistant High School Principal at the Peters Township School District.  Logue-Belden then served for a decade as the Middle School Principal of the Sto-Rox School District before being promoted to Curriculum Coordinator and Assistant to the Superintendent. After completing her Letter of Eligibility, Logue-Belden was hired as Superintendent of the Avella Area School District.

Dr. Logue-Belden holds a Bachelor's Degree in French from Allegheny College, Meadville, Pennsylvania, Diplome de Langue Francaise from L'Institut Catholique de Paris, Paris, France, Master of Arts Degree in Education from Allegheny College, Master of Science Degree in School Administration from Duquesne University and a Doctor of Education Degree from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Logue-Belden has presented at national and state conferences including the National Middle School Association (Exemplary Center for Reading Instruction in the Middle School) Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (How to Transform a Low Achieving District) and the Pennsylvania Governor's Institute for Improving School Safety (Working With Law Enforcement in Schools)

Dr. Logue-Belden was also the recipient of the 2003 Wanda McDaniel Leadership Award from the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators for her work in shaping new educational initiatives in her district.

Today, Logue-Belden focuses on working with the Deer Lakes School District's community of educators, staff, students, and parents to create an environment that fosters academic opportunities where all students can become career and college-ready.

Superintendent Goals/Performance Standards:

The Board of School Directors is required to post the mutually agreed to objective performance standards contained in the superintendent's contract on the school district's publicly accessible internet website. Upon completion of the annual performance assessment, the board of school directors is required to post the date of the assessment and whether or not the district superintendent has met the agreed to objective performance standards on the school district's publicly accessible internet website.
